Biografia/Biography:Nel 1994 Runar Runarsson è uno dei due fondatori di Óháðakvikmyndagerðin, attiva negli anni Novanta. Un'organizzazione islandese, non lucrativa, che ha come obiettivo la cooperazione tra i membri e gli organizzatori di eventi cinematografici ed i rappresentanti del cinema indipendente.
Nel 1996 Runar è diventato direttore del Reykjavík Short Film Festival. Nel 2005 ha iniziato un corso di Regia presso la National Film School of Denmark (Danimarca), completando gli studi nel 2009. Nel 2006 è stato candidato all'Oscar con il cortometraggio "The Last Farm".
In 1994 Rúnar is one of two founders of Óháðakvikmyndagerðin that was active in the nineties. A registered none profitable organization in Iceland with the purpose of cooperation between members in film events and independent filmmaking. In 1996 he became director of Reykjavík Short Film festival. In 2005 he started at the Directors Line at The National Film School of Denmark. He will graduate in the summer of 2009.
