Sinossi/Synopsis: Al nord della Sicilia sorgono le isole Eolie nelle quali imponente è la figura del vulcano Stromboli: in quei luoghi il fuoco cova ancora nelle viscere della terra e minaccia la vita dell'uomo. (Primo premio per il documentario al Festival di Cannes del 1955)
