Brakhage raccolse falene morte, fiori, foglie e semi che mise poi tra due strati di mylar da montaggio, ottenendo così una striscia sottile e trasparente da 16 mm di celluloide dotata di fori di trascinamento ed incollata su di un lato: così realizzò 'Mothlight', <<Come se una falena vedesse la nascita in nero e la morte in bianco>>. Brakhage picked dead moths, flowers, leaves and seeds and then he put them between two layers of assembly mylar, and in this way he obtained a thin and transparent strip of celluloid 16 mm long which had holes for the dragging and was sticked from one side: he realized "Mothlight" in this way <<As if a moth could see the dead in black and the life in white>>.
