In questo primo documentario (iniziato nel 1943 e finito nel 1947) si respira già l'aria di neorealismo: l'ambiente, il gusto per i particolari, la quotidianità dei fatti. I personaggi di secondo piano, i gesti consueti e abitudinari. Accanto a questo emerge però un particolare compiacimento formale che conferisce al lavoro un assetto meno diretto. In this first documentary (began in 1943 and ended in 1947) it's already possible to "feel" the neorealism: the environment, the taste for the details, the everyday life of the events. The characters in the background, the usual and habitual gestures. But it also emerges a particular formal gratification that gives a less direct order to the work.
